After defeating an out-of-form Australian side, the Pakistan team would like to carry on with the momentum leading to the second ODI. Although their bowling came good, the Pakistani batsmen lost six wickets while chasing the target during the first ODI. They would look at their batsmen put up a better show during the second match.

An injury laden Australian team would look to put aside the defeat suffered by them in the first match. An injury to Shaun Marsh came at the wrong time for the Aussies, who have have clearly struggled against the spin bowling. With Marcus North replacing Marsh, Australians look at their batsmen to put their heads down and bat diligently in the second ODI.
